NASA's WISE camera, using infrared to detect "hot" asteroids, those close enough to the solar wind to heat appreciably compared to the cold cosmic background, has already found 25,000 new asteroids within 6 months, almost 100 of which are Near Earth Orbit (NEO) ones. Recently the recent Russian Spy saga has surfaced. They were fairly untrained and blew their cover years ago. In Ivan's Hammer, Russia is up to its old tricks again. I was fascinated at how untrained these young agents were, and I already touch on that in my novel.
